Smithsonian Channel will telecast repeats of CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, beginning this Sunday. The channel, which is owned by Showtime Networks and the Smithsonian Institution, will begin its replays of that morning’s broadcast at 2 PM ET each Sunday, after the episode has cleared broadcast on CBS affiliates; Smithsonian will repeat the episode up to four times throughout the week.
The arrangement was announced this morning by CBS News president David Rhodes, and Smithsonian Channel president Tom Hayden who said the CBS program was on brand, calling it “one of the finest and most respected programs on all of television, adding “In this era of the rapid-fire and never-ending news cycle, Sunday Morning continues to be a home for remarkable storytelling, and that’s something our loyal viewers can no doubt appreciate.”
Now in its 35th year, CBS Sunday Morning is anchored by Charles Osgood and exec produced by Rand Morrison.
