Jack Pan, for the past six years the EVP Marketing at Summit Entertainment, has been hired at Robert Simonds’ film and TV studio as President of Motion Picture Marketing. The hire was announced just now by Oren Aviv, the movie studio’s recently tapped President and Chief Content Officer. The move reunites the pair, who worked together at Disney.
At Summit, Pan was involved in campaigns including the Twilight and Divergent franchises, specifically he is credited with helping to identify the proper way to reach fangirls online and is adept with social media marketing. For Simonds’ growing company, he will oversee all aspects of marketing including strategy, research and analytics, creative advertising, media, social and digital marketing, integrations, PR, and global alliances. He reports to Aviv and starts right away.

As our marketing efforts become more reliant on digital outreach and engagement, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on our team working on our inaugural slate.”
The hire is the latest as the studio, at one time called STX Entertainment, ramps up staff to shepherd a plan to produce and distribute up to 10 feature fims per year in the $20M-$60M budget range. Most of those hires have come on the film side, most recently former Universal motion picture chief Adam Fogelson who was named chairman of the movie group last week.
Pan worked for Aviv at Walt Disney Studios as a Manager of Creative Services before becoming VP Marketing Strategy & Digital Marketing. He spent 10 years there working on 136 films including the Pirates Of The Caribbean and National Treasure franchises and Pixar’s The Incredibles and Wall-E among others.
