PR firm ID has hired onetime Focus Features VP National Publicity Harlan Gulko as VP Film as the film awards season kicks into high gear. Gulko teamed with the agency on several campaigns at the studio over his 11 years there including recently for Dallas Buyers Club and The World’s End. In his new role he will be based in LA and joins a team led by NY-based VP Sara Serlen. On the firm’s plate this year are films including Theory of Everything, St. Vincent, Rudderless, Time is Illmatic and Mortdecai.
“Harlan brings with him extensive experience and relationships on both the studio and personal side of publicity, and is a terrific strategist,” said ID Founder and CEO Kelly Bush. “Many of us at ID have worked with Harlan for many years, and we’re delighted to have him join Sara and our amazing film team.”
Before joining Focus, Gulko was Senior Publicist at Fox Searchlight and got his start at BWR Public Relations working with actors and comedians.
