Shine International has sold the drama Gracepoint to Foxtel in Australia and Global TV in Canada. Both networks will start airing the show this week. Based on the hit UK drama Broadchurch, the 10-episode Gracepoint is the story of a police investigation after a young boy is found dead on an idyllic beach in a small California seaside town. Soon deemed a homicide, the case sparks a media frenzy, which throws the boy’s family into further turmoil and upends the lives of the town’s residents. The cast includes David Tennant — who also starred on Broadchurch — Anna Gunn, Nick Nolte and Jacki Weaver. Produced by Shine America in association with Kudos and Imaginary Friends, Gracepoint is executive-produced by Anya Epstein, Dan Futterman, Chris Chibnall, Jane Featherstone, John Goldwyn and Carolyn Bernstein. Futterman and Epstein serve as showrunners. Chibnall wrote the premiere episode, and James Strong directed.

Executive producers include Alex Kurtzman, Bob Orci and Justin Lin, who also directs.
Comedy Central announced Tuesday a UK pilot of its U.S series Drunk History. The pilot is being produced by Tiger Aspect. Each episode of Drunk History features two comedians getting very drunk in order to tell a true historical story they are passionate about. Dustin Demri-Burns, Tom Rosenthal, Mat Horne and Rob Beckett have all signed to appear in the pilot, with Jimmy Carr providing the voice-over. Drunk History is being produced by Ben Rogers and directed by Tom McKay. Executive producers are Jill Offman, Lourdes Diaz, Joe McVey and Andy Brereton.
