Under the two-year overall deal, John Cameron will work on developing new projects for both cable and broadcast for FX Prods. In addition, Cameron has joined Fargo exec producer/showrunner Noah Hawley’s production banner 26 Keys as partner. Terms of the 26 Keys deal were not disclosed.
“John Cameron was instrumental in the success of Fargo and we look forward to continuing our relationship with him on new projects through FXP and also on the next installment of Fargo,” said Nick Grad, co-president of original programming, FX Networks and FXP.
FX ordered a second installment of Fargo in July. A premiere date has not been scheduled. The mini won Emmys last month for Outstanding Miniseries; Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or Dramatic Special (Colin Bucksey); and Outstanding Casting for a Miniseries, Movie or Special (Rachel Tenner).

Prior to Fargo, Cameron worked on Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead. He also worked with the Coen Brothers on The Hudsucker Proxy and as a co-producer on Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Man Who Wasn’t There, Intolerable Cruelty and The Ladykillers He also exec produced five seasons of Emmy-winning series Friday Night Lights.
Cameron is repped by ICM Partners and attorney Melanie Cook; Hawley and 26 Keys are with CAA and attorney Joel McKuin.
