Salem co-creator/executive producer Brannon Braga has closed a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV that is focused on development. The Star Trek and 24 alum also recently served as an executive producer and director on Fox’s Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey, earning two Emmy nominations. He is now working on the second season of WGN America’s breakout drama Salem, produced by 20th TV’s cable division Fox 21.
“I’ve known Brannon for a long time and he’s had a long and fantastic history with the Fox TV Group, going all the way back to 24, said Fox 21 president Bert Salke. “In all of that time, I’ve never seen him do better work. He’s created a signature franchise for both Fox 21 and WGN in Salem, which is classic Brannon—brilliant storytelling, vivid characters and completely original. This deal keeps him on that important show as well as allows him to develop other hits for both cable and broadcast.” Braga is repped by WME and Ziffren Brittenham.
