Organizers said today the 14th annual Tribeca Film Festival will be held April 15-26 and that Genna Terranova has been upped from Director of Programming to Festival Director. The NYC event set September 15 as the first day it will accept submissions for features, shorts and transmedia projects. The early deadline for features and shorts is October 17, with the official cutoff for all projects being November 26. The late-entry deadline, for feature-length world premieres only, is Christmas Eve. As an added bonus with today’s announcements, the fest dropped in on Oscar winner Ron Howard to get his takes on filmmaking — “You should never stand more than three feet from your actor when giving direction” — pajamas, salt baths, self-flagellation and an Apollo 13 sequel.
