Sony has acquired Amnesia, a high-concept sci-fi thriller pitch by writer-director Christopher MacBride that was packaged and will be produced by FilmNation. MacBride, who made his helming debut on the Toronto title The Conspiracy, will write and direct a film that is inspired by the Arcana Comics title created by Dwayne Harris.
The logline: What if someone pushed the reboot button on the human race through a global outbreak of amnesia? FilmNation’s Aaron Ryder to produce and Patrick Chu co-producing, alongside Arcana’s Dan Forcey and Sean Patrick O’Reilly.
MacBride, who’ll next direct his script Echo for Fox, is repped by ICM Partners, Industry and attorney Adam Kaller. Arcana is repped by Resolution. Sony’s Rachel O’Connor, Eric Fineman and Michael De Luca made it happen.
