Justine Lupe (Francis Ha) has joined the cast of Cristela, ABC‘s semi-autobiographical multi-camera comedy co-created by and starring rising stand-up comedian Cristela Alonzo. The show, co-written by Alonzo and Kevin Hench, tells the story of Cristela (Alonzo), an American Latina straddling two cultures while not fully belonging to either. Cristela, in her sixth year of law school and living rent-free with her older, thinner, prettier, more traditional sister Daniela (Maria Canals-Barrera) and brother-in-law Felix (Carlos Ponce), lands a prestigious law firm internship as her old world, outspoken, good-hearted mother Natalia (Terri Hoyos) hectors her about getting a real job, her brother-in-law encourages her to move out and her sister runs low on patience. Lupe, repped by Gersh and Authentic Management, will play Maddie, an intern at the law firm.
