Connor Hines, creator and star of the web comedy series Local Attraction, has landed a blind script deal at ABC Studio to write, star in and executive produce a half-hour project. There is no concept for the show, though it might be somewhat inspired by his wb series.
Hines took to Kickstarter to fund Local Attraction, which chronicles the hilarity and humiliation that ensues on Tinder dates. He was able to arise $15,000 in 60 days, doubling his goal. The series, which has produced four episodes so far (watch below the first one, which has garnered more than 250,000 views), was named one of the 13 Summer Web Series Totally Worth Watching alongside Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee and Steve Buscemi’s Park Bench by Mic.com. Through the web series, Hines got the attention of Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Gersh, which signed him and introduced him to ABC Studios, where BEP has a first-look deal deal. Hines’ ABC Studios project will be exec produced by BEP’s Robin Schwartz, Brian Stern, Stacy O’Neil and Jon Liebman.
