UPDATES with more information: Hot off-broadway company The New Group announced today that Richard Chamberlain will return to the New York stage in its previously announced fall revival of David Rabe’s Sticks And Bones. Cast includes Holly Hunter and Bill Pullman, along with Nadia Gan, Morocco Omari, Ben Schnetzer and Raviv Ullman. Previews will begin in October and the run will continue through December 14. Director is New Group honcho Scott Elliott. Company will be playing this season at the Pershing Square Signature Center.
Rabe’s 1971 play was part of a Vietnam War trilogy that began with The Basic Training Of Pavlo Hummel and followed by Streamers. Sticks And Bones is a brutal parody of The Ozzie And Harriet show sitcom, in which a blind vet returns home from the war but is unable to cope with his memories, his family and his disability.
