Spike TV has found its King Tut. Avan Jogia (Twisted, Victorious) has been tapped to star opposite Ben Kingsley as young Egyptian ruler King Tutankhamun in the six-hour event series. It revolves around Tutankhamun, aka King Tut (who reigned c. 1333 to 1323 BC), the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization. It’s slated to debut in 2015. Jogia, repped by ICM Partners and LINK, will next be seen in features Ten Thousand Saints and Shangri-La Suite and is currently shooting Outskirts.
Romina D’Ugo has booked a major recurring role on Syfy‘s adventure thriller series 12 Monkeys. Inspired by Terry Gilliam’s 1995 movie starring Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt, the 13-episode show centers on Willis’ character Cole, played in the series by Aaron Stanford, who journeys from 2043 to the present on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will all but annihilate the human race. D’Ugo, repped by APA and Amanda Rosenthal Talent, will play Max, a sexy, young woman who is born after the plague and lives in the future. She has scavenged all her life with no remorse for the past and her only desire is to fulfill her needs in the present. D’Ugo’s TV credits include ABC’s Rookie Blue, CW’s Nikita, Canadian series King and MTV’s Turn The Beat Around.
