Longtime ABC communications executive Alison Rou has launched her own PR firm, Anchor Media Strategy, whose primary business will be representing showrunners.

She is starting with a list of clients that includes Julie Plec (CW’s The Vampire Diaries and The Originals); Kerry Ehrin (A&E’s Bates Motel); Erica Messer  (CBS’ Criminal Minds); Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters (ABC’s Resurrection and Marvel’s Agent Carter); John Lehr and Nancy Hower (Hulu’s Quick Draw); Ilene Chaiken (Fox’s Empire); as well as Rou’s wife, Life Unexpected creator Liz Tigelaar. Rou also represents the ATX Television Festival in Austin, which is showrunner driven.

After a stint at Alliance Atlantis, where she worked on such programs as CSI and Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows, Rou joined ABC in 2002 and was upped to VP in 2006. She left to run West Coast publicity for MTV for a couple of years before returning to ABC in 2012 and most recently oversaw both communications and talent relations.
