Karl Yune Cast In CW’s ‘Arrow’; James Callis Joins El Rey’s ‘The Matador’

Karl Yune has joined the cast of the CW drama Arrow. He will recur as Maseo Yamashiro, a skilled martial artist who is married to Katana (Devon Aoki). The character will be introduced in flashback as Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) handler — a teacher and a friend who advises and helps the Arrow become a superhero. Yune’s credits include Real Steel, Speed Racer and upcoming thriller The Invitation. He is repped by Global Artists and Zero Gravity Management.

James Callis (Austenland) has been cast as recurring in upcoming action drama series Matador, for Robert Rodriguez’s El Rey Network, created by Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Matador chronicles the unlikely rise of Antonio “Matador” Bravo (Gabriel Luna), a popular soccer star who in reality uses his sports career for a cover as a skilled covert operative executing missions for a little-known branch of the CIA. Callis, repped by Innovative, Alan Siegel Entertainment and Emptage/Hallett, will play Lucien Sayer, a mysterious figure who commands a fraternity of the world’s most elite businessmen, politicians and influencers. Thanks to the actions of telecom mogul Andrés Galan (Alfred Molina), Sayer continues to keep his hand in globe-spanning illegal enterprises.
