UPDATE 2:30 PM: A ton of adjustments: The Voice, NCIS, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., New Girl, Person Of Interest and The Originals were each adjusted up a tenth among adults 18-49 while About A Boy, Growing Up Fisher and Supernatural were adjusted down a tenth.

PREVIOUS: ABC’s scheduling stunt with a Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. block paid off. Airing at 9 PM with last week’s episode as a lead-in, the comic book series last night drew a 2.0 in adults 18-49, up 18% from its fast national last week and up 5% from the final to tie a five-week high. It is currently running behind CBS’ NCIS: LA (2.1) in the hour, but the ABC drama tends to get an upward adjustment in the finals, so it will likely end up in a tie or could even pull ahead.

celebritywifeswapIf you were scratching your head over the pairing of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Celebrity Wife Swap and banishing the family reality show to 10 PM, you were not alone. In its season premiere in the challenging for ABC Wednesday 10 PM slot, the unscripted series managed a 1.0, down a steep 58% from the last season premiere in the far more family-viewing-inducing 8 PM hour to mark the lowest premiere for the Wife Swap franchise. Still, underscoring ABC’s nightly struggles in the hour, that was a seven-week high for the network in the time period.

CBS’ dramas were down across the board to tie series lows in the fast nationals, though NCIS usually gets adjusted up. NCIS (2.1) was down 19%, NCIS: LA (2.1) was down 9%, and Person Of Interest (1.7) was down 11%.

NBC’s The Voice (2.9) was up a tenth from the fast national last Tuesday, even with the final. About A Boy (1.9), already all but certain to be renewed, gave NBC brass more reason to do so, up a tenth from its fast national last week. (It will likely be adjusted down a tenth because of a Voice overrun but is still expected to finish 0.1 ahead of last week’s final). Also helping its renewal cause is Growing Up Fisher (1.6), up a tenth from last week. Chicago Fire (1.8), already safely renewed for next season, slipped a tenth from last week to a season low. NBC edged CBS for the top spot among adults 18-49, while CBS was first in viewers (14 million vs. 8.4 million).

Fox’s Glee (1.0) held steady. New Girl (1.1) returned from a two-week hiatus down a tenth. The Mindy Project (1.0) was down a tenth from last week. The CW’s The Originals (0.6) also slipped a tenth from last week to a series low. Supernatural (0.8) was down 20%.
