Chrissie Fit has booked a role in Universal’s sequel Pitch Perfect 2, playing a new member of the Barden Bellas. Many of the original cast members are returning, but plot details are being kept under wraps for director Elizabeth Banks’ film, which is shooting in Baton Rouge, LA. Fit’s credits include Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie and Win, Lose Or Draw, along with the feature Filly Brown and a recurring role on General Hospital. She is repped by Abrams Artists Agency and Intellectual Artists Management.
Shohreh Aghdashloo has been tapped to narrate the documentary Alam High School. Director Saman Yaghmai-Aledavoud’s film is about an elite, experimental co-ed school established in the conservative Iranian city in 1969, where students were taught in English by young American members of the Peace Corps and Iranian college professors. Ten years later, it became a detention center for political dissidents. Aghdashloo, who won an Emmy for House Of Saddam and earned an Oscar nom for House Of Sand And Fog, next appears in The Last Knights and Rosewater. She is repped by CAA and Roundtable Entertainment and in the UK by Ken McReddie.
Tucker Albrizzi has joined the cast of Monster Trucks, Universal’s hybrid live-action/CGI pic from director Chris Wedge. He will play Sam, a high school kid who is picked on but later is discovered to have special skills that come in handy. Albrizzi recurs on Enlisted and Good Luck Charlie and played the title role in Disney Channel’s Shmagreggie Saves the World. He is repped by Mavrick Artists, Luber-Roklin and Felker Toczek Gellman Suddleson
