Amy Ryan has landed a role in Paramount’s live-action/CGI hybrid Monster Trucks. Plot details for director Chris Wedge’s film are being kept under wraps, but Ryan will play a the single mom trying to make ends meet while raising her teenage son. Her credits include Clear History and Breathe In and she recently wrapped the feature Don Verdean. Ryan next will be seen in Birdman and Devil’s Knot. TV credits include The Office, In Treatment and The Wire. She is repped by Gersh and attorney Dave Feldman.
Blake Jenner has been cast in New Line’s Crawlspace. Michael Vartan stars a widower with a daughter who gets remarried and, after a rough patch of unemployment, gets the chance for a new start in a new house in the suburbs. But the house has a dark secret. Jenner will play Tommy, who discovers the horrors hidden within the house’s walls. Principal photography was set to begin today in Los Angeles. Jenner is a regular on Fox’s Glee, following his Season 2 win on The Glee Project. He is repped by Mosaic and CAA.
Chilean helmer Pablo Larrain (No) will direct the Scarface remake for Universal Pictures.
