AMBI Pictures Taps Julie Sultan To Run New International Sales Unit
Julie SultanJulie Sultan has been named as President of Worldwide Sales & Acquisitions at AMBI Distribution Corp, the newly launched international sales division of AMBI Pictures. She will oversee the new company, which represents Beverly Hills-based AMBI’s original productions as well as third-party product from around the world. Sultan has served in senior positions at Lakeshore Entertainment, where she oversaw sales of “Million Dollar Baby,” and the “Underworld” franchise, as well as NBC and Peace Arch Entertainment.

ITV Takes Stake In Nordic On-Demand Channel Cirkus
ITV said Friday that it has taken a minority stake in Nordic on-demand channel Cirkus. Launched in Sweden in December, the channel offers scripted British drama and comedy. It’s a partnership between ComHem, the country’s biggest cable operator, and Swedish DTT platform Boxer.

Salon Workshop develop and package Intercourse: The Life and Work of Andrea Dworkin, a feature documentary by Pratibha Parmar; Andrew Kotting’s adaptation of Hattie Naylor’s play Ivan SalonAnd The Dogs, about a starving child who is adopted by a pack of wild street dogs after fleeing his home in Moscow; Rob Savage’s psychological horror Seaholme, a group of local disaffected teenagers in a quiet US coastal town who find a monster washed up on their shores; and Queensbury Rules, a TV period drama serial to be penned by Rachel Hirons about the birth of modern boxing in the Victoria era.

Imax Inks Deal For First Giant Screens In Mongolia
Imax and New Tour Safaris Co. — operator of Urgoo Cinemas, the largest theatrical exhibition and entertainment company in Mongolia — announced Friday an agreement to install two Imax theaters in new construction projects in the city of Ulan Bator, the nation’s capital and largest city. It marks the first Imax installations in Mongolia, giving the company a presence in 58 countries worldwide.
