thuneActor-comedian-musician Nick Thune is set as the young male lead opposite Natasha Lyonne in NBC‘s single-camera comedy pilot Old Soul. Co-created by Amy Poehler, Josh Bycel and Jonathan Fener and directed by David Wain, Old Soul centers on a reformed wild child, Nadia (Lyonne), who has a business caring for the elderly and feels she has more in common with her colorful old clients than she does with people her age. Thune, repped by 3 Arts and WME, will play Nadia’s roommate and friend who shares her offbeat sense of humor.

meadowsSaturday Night Live alum Tim Meadows has been cast in Marry Me, NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot from David Caspe, Sony TV and Jamie Tarses’ Fanfare. The project, directed by Seth Gordon, centers on a young couple, Annie (Casey Wilson) and Jake (Ken Marino), who get engaged — something they quickly realize is harder than it looks. Meadows, repped by APA and Brillstein Entertainment, will play Kevin, one of Annie’s two gay dads. He has been recurring on ABC’s Suburgatory.

In other castings, Jolene Purdy (Under The Dome), has been added to newly picked up USA comedy series Benched as a regular, playing an intern in the public defender’s office.
