Kelen Coleman has been cast in CBS’ new pilot for The McCarthys, from Sony TV and Will Gluck’s Olive Bridge Entertainment. The comedy is being retooled as multi-camera after shooting a single-camera pilot last season. Written/co-executive produced by Brian Gallivan, McCarthys revolves around a big, sports-crazed Irish Catholic clan in Boston and the gay son whose greatest sin is not his sexuality but his desire to spend less time with his family. Coleman, repped by Gersh, 3 Arts and Scott Whitehead, plays the daughter, Jackie McCarthy, who is roommates with her gay brother.
Zach Cregger (Guys With Kids) has landed the lead in Fox‘s single-camera comedy pilot/soon-to-be series Fatrick. The project, written by Nahnatchka Khan and Corey Nickerson and to be directed by Nat Faxon & Jim Rash, centers on Patrick (Cregger), a thirtysomething moving man and former fat kid, who, realizing that his life isn’t quite where it should be, is forced to face the damage caused by years of being “Fatrick”: a chubby little kid just trying to survive. Marcia Cross plays his mother.
