Preliminary sales action and deals have been ramping up for weeks ahead of the American Film Market‘s 2013 edition, which opens tomorrow and runs through November 13 in Santa Monica. Over 8,000 attendees are expected to flood the annual 8-day market this year. 405 screenings, 321 market premieres, and 75 world premieres from 51 countries are slated to screen for exhibitors and financiers. 2013’s market is projected to be AFM’s highest-attended iteration in six years, according to trade org the Independent Film & Television Alliance®. This year’s AFM will play host to more than 100 new buying companies and a strong contingent from mainland China in addition to 357 exhibitors from 33 countries. Films in this year’s catalogue include new pics featuring Helena Bonham Carter, Zach Braff, Dakota Fanning, Jay Z, Kanye West, Nicolas Cage, Abigail Breslin, Jesse Eisenberg and more.
