JJ Abrams’ Mystery ‘S.’ Teaser Gets Full Trailer, Explanation

It wasn’t a new secret film that JJ Abrams and Bad Robot were teasing last month after all when they dropped that mysterious one-minute Stranger video. The Star Wars Episode VII helmer revealed the true nature of the project today: S. is a forthcoming novel written by Doug Dorst from an Abrams concept, set to hit shelves October 29 via Little, Brown. Per EW, S. tracks two college students as they trade notes and miscellany in the margins and pages of a fictional 1949 novel. In a way it’s a literal JJ Abrams mystery box.
