It’s hard enough for screenwriters to get a foot in the door in Hollywood, so ahead of UCLA‘s annual Screenwriters Showcase the school has launched a new comprehensive screenwriters directory to get its MFA students in front of the eyes of the industry. UCLA’s online creative directory highlights over 60 current MFA students and their film and TV scripts including the winners and honorable mention honorees of its annual screenwriting competition. Staged readings from the eight winning scripts selected by a jury of over 200 industry pros will be performed at the 2013 Screenwriters Showcase held June 10 at the WGA, where Life Of Pi scribe David Magee is also receiving the Excellence In Screenwriting Award. The Showcase is part of the 22nd annual UCLA Film Festival held June 7-13.
