Keshet International‘s UK office has hired producer Amelia Hann as head of unscripted programming to oversee a new factual production venture. Hann was most recently executive producer on Channel 4’s The Undateables and her other credits include the BAFTA winning Ross Kemp On Gangs, Wife Swap USA, Baby Bible Bashers, Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard Wars and The Hunt For Britain’s Sex Traffickers.

AMC/Sundance Channel Global has made a trio of exec promotions bumping Harold Gronenthal to EVP, programming and operations; Jennie Morris to VP affiliate marketing; and Mark Fareri to director of operations, AMC/Sundance Channel Global. The group has also pacted with Passion Distribution to acquire Push Girls for WE tv Asia and with We tv US for Cyndi Lauper docu-soap Cyndi.

Sweden’s SVT, Finland’s Yle and Denmark’s DR networks have acquired Restless, the adaptation of William Boyd’s spy novel that stars Hayley Atwell, Rufus Sewell, Michelle Dockery, Charlotte Rampling and Michael Gambon. Red Arrow International is handling the Hilary Bevan Jones produced series from the BBC and Sundance Channel.

Endemol is reviving Big Brother in Germany and Portugal. Sat 1 has ordered a new celebrity series of the show which stopped airing on Germany’s RTL in 2011 after 11 initial seasons. In Portugal the show is returning to TVI for the first time in 10 years, also for a celebrity version. The format has made a comeback in other territories including the UK and Australia.

Discovery is getting into the Bear Grylls business, again. Adventure competition show Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls was ordered by NBC last October for a summer slot. It will also roll out in 218 territories via Discovery Networks International starting in the third quarter, it was announced today. Co-produced by Bear Grylls Ventures and Ben Silverman’s Electus, the series features Grylls assembling teams of two to test the wild beyond their most extreme imaginations. Last month it was announced that Bear Grylls: Ultimate Survivors, a six-part hourlong show will air on the Discovery Channel in 217 international markets in their first re-team since parting ways in 2012 over a programming disagreement.

OWN and Discovery Networks International are partnering on an OWN programming block for the UK. The content will air on TLC which launches in the UK and Ireland on April 30. The multi-year deal for OWN programming includes Oprah’s Next Chapter, Oprah’s Master Class, Oprah’s Lifeclass and Super Soul Sunday. DNI says the block is part of a drive to bring general entertainment content to TLC, and OWN content its female flagship channels in the future.

Warner Bros. International Television Distribution is restructuring its Asia Pacific operations, with Los Angeles-based Malcolm Dudley-Smith relocating to Sydney to take charge of the region. As a result, Greg Robertson, the division’s SVP and managing director Asia Pacific, will leave at the end of June. Dudley-Smith has served as EVP business management at WBITD’s branded services unit which operates The Warner Channel in Latin America and WarnerTV in Asia along with more than 50 SVOD services. Robertson has been with the company for 28 years, starting at Lorimar TV and was in charge of Asia Pacific sales since 2001.
