Majandra Delfino, who just exited the ABC/20th TV comedy pilot Keep Calm And Karey On where she had a supporting role, was quickly cast as a lead in another 20th TV comedy pilot, Dana Klein’s CBS comedy Friends With Better Lives, which is directed by James Burrows. The multi-camera project, from 20th Century Fox TV and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, revolves around six 30-something friends who each think the other has it better. Delfino, repped by APA and Ziffren Bittenham, will play one of them, Andi, an attractive and vulnerable mother of an infant and 3-year-old twins who is married to Bobby (Kevin Connolly) and is best friends with Jules (Brooklyn Decker) and Kate.

Nicky Whelan has joined TBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot Do It Yourself, written by Walt Becker and Rob Long and directed by James Widdoes. It tells the story of Nick Porter (Ben Rappaport), a 20-something laid-off math teacher who finds himself thrust into the blue collar world when he gets a job at that most American of retail institutions: the big box home supply store.Whelan, repped by UTA and Luber Roklin, plays Tess, Nick’s unattainable ingenue . She will next be seen in Terrence Malick’s Knight Of Cups and 7500.
