Yesterday was Presidents Day but pretty much business as usual on TV. Monday night’s two-hour The Bachelor (3.0/8) saw hometown visits to Houston, Seattle, Fort Leonard Wood and LA with one bachelorette sent home without a rose. It also saw the dating reality show up 11% from last week, topping the February 11 airing’s season high. Castle (2.2/6) followed and rose 10% from last week, beating CBS’ Hawaii Five-O in the 10 PM time slot. That ties a season high for the crime drama, matching its October 29 and October 8 numbers. Fox’s 9 PM freshman drama The Following (2.8/7) was up 11% from last week’s season low. The Kevin Bacon-starring show also was up 6% in total viewers, to 8.3 million from 7.8 million. The Following’s lead-in, Bones (2.1/6), dipped a bit from last week, down 5% from February 11. NBC’s The Biggest Loser (2.1/5) put on a few ratings pounds to rise 5% from last week’s season low. At 10 PM, Deception (1.2/3) was flat with last week’s show.
With 9.376 million watching, ABC won the night in total viewers in a close race over CBS’ 9.234 million. The two networks tied in adults 18-49.
On CBS, How I Met Your Mother (3.4/10) bopped up 6% from last week while Rules Of Engagement (2.8/7) was flat with its February 11 airing. 2 Broke Girls (3.4/8) slipped 6% from last week with Mike & Molly (3.1/8) seeing a slight 3% rise; it was the most-watched show of the night with 10.33 million viewers. Ending the night, Hawaii Five-O (2.0/5) dipped 5% from last week’s show. The CW had The Carrie Diaries (0.4/1), down 20% from last week, and 90210 (0.2/0), down 33%.
