EXCLUSIVE: Atlanta is emerging as Bravo‘s hottest reality series setting. The highest-rated show of the Real Housewives franchise, The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, takes place there, as does its spinoff starring Kim Zolciak. Now Bravo has greenlighted two new unscripted series that have Hotlanta as a backdrop: Married To Medicine and Taking Atlanta. Additionally, the network has renewed Zolciak’s Don’t Be Tardy For The Wedding for a second season, shortening its title to Don’t Be Tardy…
Taking Atlanta (working title) follows a group of aspiring and ambitious Atlanta locals as they make their mark in the arenas of fashion, music, hospitality and real estate while exploring the city’s sizzling social scene and balancing the demands of their tumultuous family situations. NFGTV and Monami Entertainment produce, with Toby Barraud, Stefan Springman and Mona Scott-Young serving as executive producers.
Married To Medicine follows a group of successful and educated women, including doctors and wives of doctors, who are connected to the world of medicine in Atlanta and do everything with style, drama, and of course, Southern flair. The series is produced by FremantleMedia North America and developed by Purveyors of Pop with Matt Anderson, Nate Green and Maty Buss serving as executive producers.
Season 2 of Don’t Be Tardy… follows Real Housewives Of Atlanta standout Zolciak and Kroy Biermann in the next phase of their marriage, which involves the demands of their ever-growing family, purchasing their dream house, and a possible adoption. The renewal of the show, from True Entertainment, comes as Bravo revealed Zolciak is leaving The Real Housewives Of Atlanta, and this week’s episode will be her last.
