CORE Media President Marc Graboff has recruited a former NBC colleague to oversee the company’s original scripted and unscripted production and development. Jennifer O’Connell has been named head of U.S. Television for CORE Media Group. She will start in mid-October, based in the company’s Los Angeles offices and reporting to Graboff. “I have always been impressed by Jen’s intelligence and creativity, as well as her great relationships in the creative community,” said Graboff.  “With her deep experience on the selling and producing side of the television business, coupled with her prior expertise as a network buyer, Jen is truly the ideal executive to lead CORE’s television operations.”

O’Connell was most recently EVP of ShedMedia US, a position she held since 2009. Prior to that she had been SVP of Ricochet Television since 2007, before the company became part of Shed Media US.  She served as Executive Producer of Bravo’s The Real Housewives Of New York CityBethenny Ever After, and It’s A Brad, Brad World as well as NBC’s Emmy-nominated Who Do You Think You Are?  She also developed and executive produced programs for several other cable and broadcast networks, including CBS’ Dogs In The City and VH1’s Hollywood Exes.

Before switching to producing, O’Connell was with NBC for seven years both on the scripted and unscripted sides. She oversaw the development of such programs as reality veteran The Biggest Loser and long-form projects 10.5 and The Matthew Shepard Story.
