President Obama and Michelle Obama will appear next Tuesday as part of The View‘s Red, White & View campaign featuring political guests and discussions. This will be the first joint appearance for the Obamas on the ABC talker but is the president’s fifth visit, coming just over a week after his seventh visit to Late Show With David Letterman. That same day, Ann Romney will be making her first appearance on a late-night talk show on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, NBC announced today. Meanwhile, View co-host Whoopi Goldberg is firing back at Mitt Romney over leaked remarks he made about appearing on The View, before he agreed yesterday to return as a guest sometime in October.Romney said the show was “high risk” because of the hosts on it. “Only one is conservative and four are sharp-tongued and not conservative, Whoopi Goldberg in particular,” he said. “Although the last time I was on the show, she said to me, ‘You know what? I think I could vote for you.’ And I said, ‘I must have done something really wrong.’ ” Romney last appeared on The View on March 2, 2010. Goldberg responded last night on her Twitter page. “Well Mr Romney the man I was talking about turned into a man who flushed his ideals down the drain,” she tweeted. “Yes once I thought there was the possibility of a moderate republican who could make the race with Obama at least interesting. But that was Months ago before your desperation to be Presedent made u forget your ideals.”
