Nancy Dubuc‘s star continues to rise at A+E Networks. After adding Lifetime to her History purview following the female-centered network’s 2010 acquisition, Dubuc is now expanding even further her portfolio and will oversee all A+E Networks — including A&E Network and BIO. Her new title is President, Entertainment and Media, A+E Networks. Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager of A&E Network and BIO, and EVPs Dan Suratt and Steve Ronson will now report to her. Once A+E Networks’ flagship network, A&E has been overtaken in the ratings by upstart History, which has been on an upswing, finishing last year as the fifth-most-watched basic cable network. Meanwhile, after some growing pains, Lifetime has started to move the ratings needle in a positive direction, up year-to-year in total viewers and all key demos. Here is the release:

NEW YORK, September 13, 2012 – Nancy Dubuc has been appointed to a newly established role — President, Entertainment and Media, A+E Networks. Dubuc will now oversee all content creation, brand development and marketing for the entire A+E Networks’ portfolio including A&E Network, Lifetime and History and their affiliated brands. In addition, Dubuc will oversee A+E Networks’ International and Digital divisions. A&E Network President Bob DeBitetto and Executive Vice Presidents Dan Suratt and Steve Ronson will now report to Dubuc. The announcement was made today by Abbe Raven, President and CEO, A+E Networks, to whom Dubuc will continue to report. The appointment becomes effective immediately.

Under Dubuc’s leadership since 2007, History has secured its place as an unparalleled leader in the media marketplace with five consecutive years of unprecedented growth.  With its slate of original programming, year-to-date, History is the #2 cable network in A25-54 and in the top five among all cable networks in A18-49. History has more hit series averaging over 1.0 million A25-54 impressions than any other network in cable.

Dubuc has also spearheaded the resurgence of Lifetime as a premiere entertainment brand, introducing a new look and tagline, “Your life. Your time.”, while propelling its original programming to ratings success.  Year-to-date, Lifetime is up +11% in Adults 18-49; up +4% in Adults 25-54 and up +3% in total viewers versus the full year 2011.  Among Women 18-49, Lifetime is up +17% and up +8% in W25-54 vs. 2011 YTD. In addition to Project Runway, Army Wives and Drop Dead Diva, Dubuc launched several new hit series including the cultural phenomenon, Dance Moms; The Client List, cable television’s number one drama for women on Sundays; and Project Runway All Stars.
Prior to History, Dubuc was Senior Vice President, Non-Fiction Programming and New Media Content, A&E Television Networks, a position she assumed in June 2006. Previously, she was Senior Vice President, Programming for A&E Network. Dubuc began her career at A+E Networks as Director, Historical Programming for History.
