EXCLUSIVE: Gary Fleder’s company Mojo Films has signed a two-year deal with CBS TV Studios. Under the pact, Fleder will continue as an executive producer on the studio’s new CW drama series Beauty And The Beast whose pilot he directed. It marked the ninth pilot helmed by Fleder to go to series. He also recently directed the key post-pilot episode of another new CBS TV Studios drama series, CBS’ Vegas.

Under the pact, Fleder will develop and executive produce series projects for the studio with his producing partner at Mojo Mary Beth Basile. For the past six years, Mojo had been based ABC Studios where it developed two projects that have gone to series, October Road at ABC and Life Unexpected at the CW. ABC Studios pulled out of the latter when it got the order from the CW, and the critically praised drama was laid off at CBS TV Studios and Warner Bros. TV, giving Fleder the opportunity to work with CBS TV president David Stapf. The pact with CBS TV Studios also will likely lead to more projects for Mojo at studio sibling the CW, run by Mark Pedowitz, who was the head of ABC Studios when the company set up shop there. Mojo is currently developing a series version of the 2009 indie feature The Joneses for Bravo with Life Unexpected creator Liz Tigelaar. The project was originally set up at ABC last season via ABC Studios. WME-repped Fleder’s feature credits include Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls, and Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead.
