LOS ANGELES, August 21, 2012 – QED international has appointed Daniel Diamond as President of International, it was announced today by QED International CEO Bill Block. Diamond comes to QED International from Morgan Creek Prods. where he served as President of International Distribution.

Diamond’s appointment is part of an operational expansion of QED as it heads into the Toronto Intl. Film Festival and AFM with a robust film slate including TEN, directed by David Ayres and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger; FADING GIGOLO, directed by John Turturro and starring Turturro and Woody Allen; and ELYSIUM, directed by Neil Blomkamp and starring Matt Damon. Earlier this year, Media Content Capital made an eight-figure investment in QED International.

Diamond has held top positions with leading independent and studio related film companies for over a quarter of a century. Most recently he was President of International Distribution at Morgan Creek Prods. where he was responsible for worldwide distribution and marketing of Morgan Creek productions such as DREAM HOUSE which was directed by Jim Sheridan and stars Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts and Rachel Weisz; and the 2011 reboot of legendary SciFi thriller THE THING as well as MCP’s extensive library of iconic motion pictures such as ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES, ACE VENTURA, LAST OF THE MOHICANS and the MAJOR LEAGUE and YOUNG GUNS franchises. Prior to Morgan Creek, Mr. Diamond served as the President of Fireworks Pictures, the motion picture division and wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian media giant CanWest Global. Before joining Fireworks, Mr. Diamond served as President of International Distribution for Franchise Pictures.
