Showtime was one of the networks that pulled some programs off its schedule in the wake of the Colorado shootings July 20. The pay cable network is known for violent shows, and network president David Nevins was asked today at TCA about what impact the tragedy would have on programming decisions. “It’s a very hard question,” he said. “The weekend that happened we did replace some movie titles. Dexter is a psychological show, so it’s very hard to see a direct causal connection, but we always weigh this stuff all the time with our shows, like Dexter or Homeland, even Borgias. It’s a big part of (new drama) Ray Donovan.”
