Dark Ride Entertainment today announced a partnership with Struans Media to fund an eight-film slate. The investment and management company will fully finance the newly created production company’s initial features into 2015, starting with the post-apocalyptic sci-fi/horror film Hell Storm. The pic, written and directed by Dark Ride president William Butler, will begin filming in Los Angeles later this summer. Horror/sci-fi veteran Butler previously directed 2004’s Madhouse and 2007’s prison flick Furnace. Emmy winner John Vulich, who worked on The X-Files and Buffy The Vampire Slayer television series, will serve as Dark Ride’s VP. Hell Storm and all films in the slate will be executive produced by Struans Media partners George Malasek and John Cole.
