LOS ANGELES (May 17, 2012) – XLrator Media, LLC announced the launch of the “TURBO by XLrator” multi-platform releasing label to bring the world’s best action films to North American audiences. The label will comprise a broad array of domestic and internationally produced films within the action genre. The first 3 films set for release under the “TURBO by XLrator” label this year will be NAKED SOLDIER from Hong Kong, BLOOD MONEY which was filmed in Sydney, Hong Kong and Miami, and BRAWLER, a U.S. production shot in New Orleans.

The label will be curated by XLrator Media CEO Barry Gordon and president of marketing and distribution Mike Radiloff, who together helped develop and oversee The Weinstein Company’s successful Dragon Dynasty home entertainment label for Asian martial arts and stylized action films.

XLrator Media recently released Mario Van Peebles’ teen comedy WE THE PARTY and, in partnership with ARC Entertainment, the suspense thriller 96 MINUTES starring Brittany Snow.

TURBO by XLrator will bring the most adrenaline-pumping, kick-ass new visions and filmmakers from around the globe to North American action fans,” said Gordon.


The sequel to the successful martial arts film NAKED WEAPON from the producer Wong Jing, NAKED SOLDIER stars Jennifer Tse, Sammo Hung (Kill Zone), Philip Ng, Ankie Beilke and Andy On and is directed by Marco Mak with action direction by Corey Yuen (The Expendables, The Transporter). Tse stars as the gorgeous but lethal assassin Phoenix – the top-ranked killer in an international crime syndicate — whose latest assignment brings her on a collision course with a shocking target from her past. The acquisition was negotiated by Gordon Cheung of Mega-Vision Project which is selling international rights and XLrator’s Gordon.


Directed by Gregory McQualter, BLOOD MONEY introduces American audiences to the martial arts sensation Zheng Liu, often called “the next Bruce Lee,” and features world-famous rap star Pitbull and Hong Kong film legend Chia Hui Liu aka Gordon Liu (Kill Bill 1 & 2). When a powerful Shaolin warrior (Zheng Liu) turns to crime after his parents are killed and sister kidnapped, the drug cartels of America, Australia and Hong Kong are about to feel the sting of the world’s deadliest hitman. The acquisition was negotiated by Gordon and Lise Romanoff, CEO of Vision Films which is handling the worldwide rights, and debuting it at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.


A brutal. hard-hitting film set amidst an underground MMA fighting competition on a New Orleans riverboat, BRAWLER stars Nathan Grubbs and Marc Senter as two pugilistic brothers who must square off in the ring after a personal betrayal. The film was directed by Chris Sivertson and co-stars Pell James and Bryan Batt (“Mad Men”). The acquisition was negotiated by Michael Paszt and James Fler of Raven Banner and Gordon.
