LOS ANGELES (May 3, 2012) __ Former Weinstein Company executive Laine Kline has joined Twentieth Century Fox as senior vice president of business affairs Fox International Productions. The announcement was made today by Fox’s executive vice presidents of business affairs Stephen Plum and Mark Resnick, to whom Kline will report. At Fox International Pictures, Kline will negotiate many of the company’s development, acquisition, co-productions, partnerships, financing and tax driven agreements and structures.
Kline spent the last six years at The Weinstein Company as a senior business and legal affairs executive, working on many of the company’s productions including the upcoming “Django Unchained” directed by Quentin Tarantino, and “Silver Lining’s Playbook” directed by David O. Russell; as well as “My Week with Marilyn”; “The Reader”; “Nine”; “Inglorious Basterds” and “The Great Debaters”.
Prior to joining The Weinstein Company, Kline held posts at the Yari Film Group and Walden Media. He began his career in the entertainment industry in the William Morris Training Program before practicing entertainment law full time.
Kline graduated from the Emory University School of Law and was a distinguished member of the Moot Court Society and the Law School American Bar Association Client Counseling Team.
