LAS VEGAS/CINEMACON – April 24, 2012 – Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, has extended its multi-year strategic agreement with founding partner Carmike Cinemas, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKEC), the nation’s premier “home town” motion picture exhibitor with 2,254 screens, just in time for the summer moviegoing season.

This latest exhibition agreement follows on the heels of Fandango’s recent deals with AMC Theatres and Regency Theatres earlier in the year, adding more than 3,000 screens to Fandango’s constantly growing network of U.S. screens, now totaling nearly 20,000. With the Carmike extension, Fandango is adding another 80 new screens (recently acquired or built by Carmike) to its network. Fandango’s exhibition footprint now reaches over 70 percent of the nation’s theaters with online and mobile ticketing.

“We are pleased to extend our long-standing relationship with founding partner Carmike,” says Rick Butler, EVP and General Manager of Fandango. “We look forward to many more years of innovating together, bringing our large online and mobile audience and our technical expertise to Carmike theaters, and adding moviegoing conveniences like mobile barcode ticket scanning.”

“We have shared many years of success with Fandango and we are proud to be one of their founding partners,” stated David Passman, CEO and President of Carmike Cinemas, Inc. “With Fandango’s award-winning mobile apps, Carmike guests can purchase their tickets on the go and find the closest Carmike theater, showtimes and amenities like our new ‘BigD Experience.’ Our company is successfully transitioned to growth mode and we look forward to Fandango’s ongoing support as we further expand our footprint.”

Heading into the summer, the busiest moviegoing season of the year, Fandango enjoyed its most successful first quarter in the company’s nearly 12-year history. As Fandango’s ticket sales surged 127% over last year, the company also partnered with AMC Theatres, Regency Theatres and other chains to expand its theater network by 19%. The quarter also included Fandango’s newly-signed ticketing deal with Yahoo and the launch of Fandango’s enormously popular Facebook Timeline app, “Movies with Friends.”
