Law & Order: SVU alumna Stephanie March has been cast in the CBS/Sony TV pilot Baby Big Shot, a legal drama centered on Martina (Janet Montgomery), a working-class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at a top New York law firm. March, repped by Gersh and One Entertainment, will play Natalie Minka, a high-ranking associate at Stark & Cohen, she thinks that townies like Martina devalue the firm’s brand, and she never misses an opportunity to needle Martina about her working-class background.
James Pumphrey and Ravi Patel have been cast in Mandy Moore’s ABC comedy pilot directed by Shawn Levy. The single-camera project centers on newlyweds Annie (Moore) and Ben (Nelson Franklin), who get the opportunity of a lifetime to run a hip, new restaurant in Annie’s hometown bringing her closer to her needy and high-maintenance family. Pumphrey will play Annie’s younger brother Zach, a charming free spirit or free loader depending on your point of view. Pumphrey, repped by CAA and Principato-Young, stars in Millennium’s High Road and will next be seen in the Josh Schwartz-directed Fun Size for Paramount. Patel, repped by Talentworks and Seven Summits, will play a self-made millionaire who hires Annie and Ben at his restaurant. He will be shooting Dylan Kidd’s Get A Job next month.
Brett Gelman has been added to the cast of the ABC comedy pilot Awesometown, about Dusty (Ben Rappaport), a twentysomething guy who, after a divorce, moves into an apartment shared by his co-worker Andrew (Nick Kocher) and roommate Oliver (James Earl III). Gelman, repped by CAA and Mosaic, will play a gay co-worker of Andrew’s, a decent, easy-going, likeable guy.
