Jericho alum Lennie James has been cast in the ABC drama pilot Gotham. The 20th TV-produced project centers on Detective Annie Travers (Megan Ketch), investigating the “impossible murder” of a nightclub owner who is stunned to learn that New York has a whole secret magical history of which she (and everyone else) was hitherto unaware. James, repped by UTA and manager Estelle Lasher, will play Gabriel Riga, the magnetic and wealthy CEO running for Mayor of New York City. He was most recently a regular on HBO’s Hung.
Kevin Bishop is set as the male lead in CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot Super Fun Night, written by and starring Bridesmaids‘ Rebel Wilson. The project, from Warner Bros TV and Conan O’Brien’s studio-based Conaco banner, follows three nerdy female friends on their ”funcomfortable” quest to have super fun every Friday night. Bishop, repped by ICM and UK’s Troika, will play a guy who is attracted to one of the girls.
Mo Gaffney has been added to the cast of ABC’s untitled Kari Lizer project (aka The Unprofessional). The multi-camera comedy, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on Hilary Pfeiffer-Dunne (McCormack), a high-powered executive who now faces the biggest challenge of her life when she finds herself unemployed and acting as a full-time mom to her two teenagers. Gaffney, repped by Stone Manners Salners, will play Robin, a supermom who clashes with Hilary.
Khary Payton, who was just released from the FX pilot Powers, has been cast in NBC’s comedy pilot Go On. The single-camera project, written by Scott Silveri and directed by Todd Holland, centers on Ryan (Matthew Perry), an irreverent yet charming sportscaster who, trying to move on from a loss, finds surprising solace from the members of his mandatory support group. Payton, repped by Bauman Redanty & Shaul and Gekis/Ribers, will play one of the group’s members, Don, a working-class guy who went bankrupt and whose wife left him with the kids.
Zoe Jarmon, and Dana Delorenzo have been added to Mindy Kaling’s Fox single-camera comedy pilot, in which she stars as a young Bridget Jones-type Ob/Gyn balancing personal and professional life, surrounded by quirky co-workers in a small office. Jarmon, repped by TalentWorks and Mosaic, will play a receptionist at the office. Delorenzo is with 3 Arts and attorney Lev Ginsberg.
