Saturday Night Live alumna Jenny Slate has been cast as a lead opposite Rebel Wilson in CBS’ comedy pilot Super Fun Night. The project, written by Wilson and produced by Warner Bros TV and Conan O’Brien’s Conaco, follows three nerdy female friends — Kimmie (Wilson), Helen-Alice (Slate) and Marika — on their “funcomfortable” quest to have super fun every Friday night. Helen-Alice is Kimmie’s super-smart best friend and roommate who thinks the pinnacle of fun is staying in on Friday nights to eat pizza and watch dorky movies. Slate, repped by WME and 3 Arts, recurred on Bored To Death and most recently voiced a character in Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
Ella Rae Peck (Gossip Girl) has joined the cast of NBC’s drama pilot Notorious, from Universal TV and BermanBraun. Written by Liz Heldens, Notorious is described as an opulent soap in which detective Joanna Locasto (Meagan Good) returns undercover to the wealthy and troubled Lawson family she grew up in — as the housekeeper’s daughter — to solve the murder of celebutante Vivian Lawson, who was once her closest friend. Peck, repped by Innovative and Authentic, will co-star as Mia, the Lawsons’ younger daughter who is devastated by her sister’s death but appears to be heading down her older sister’s path: good drugs, bad men, loud parties. Also cast in the pilot is Makenzie Leigh, repped by Innovative and Emily Gerson Saints, who will guest star/recur as young Vivian.
