Toronto – Piers Handling today announced that Cameron Bailey, formerly titled Co-Director of the Toronto International Film Festival® will receive a new title, Artistic Director, Toronto International Film Festival. Handling’s title remains unchanged as Director and CEO of TIFF.
“Today’s announcement is part of our ongoing efforts to become a fully integrated year-round film institution,” said Handling. “While Cameron’s responsibilities remain unchanged, I believe that his new title will support our efforts to streamline and integrate our programming across all divisions within the organization.”
With today’s announcement, Bailey and Noah Cowan, Artistic Director, TIFF Bell Lightbox, are now aligned as the two Artistic Directors of TIFF in charge of all programming offerings; both year-round and festival-specific.
“Over the past 18 months, the programming heads have been working towards finding ways to become further integrated when looking at our curatorial efforts throughout the year,” said Bailey. “This title change is one important step in this process.”
