A month after she was tapped by Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum to run MGM’s TV division post-bankruptcy, Roma Khanna has built up her team with four appointments. Vicky Gregorian has been named SVP, Domestic Television Distribution; Susan Hummel has been promoted to SVP, U.S. Basic Cable and Canada Television; Damien Marin will serve as SVP, Pay Television and Digital Media; and Vinicio Espinosa has joined the studio as VP, Latin American Television Distribution. “These new appointments are a key part of our strategy to grow our television business globally,” said Khanna, MGM’s President Television Group and Digital. Gregorian will spearhead sales of MGM TV’s syndicated product, including feature film packages, Stargate Universe, Stargate Atlantis, Outer Limits, and third party acquisition sales, including Cash Cab, throughout the U.S. Hummel will be responsible for all Canadian television distribution including pay, digital, free and basic, in addition to the sale of MGM television properties to U.S. basic cable operators. Marin will continue to manage on-demand and digital media distribution and will add domestic pay television sales. Marin, Hummel and Gregorian will report to John Bryan, the studio’s President of Domestic TV Distribution. Espinosa will oversee television efforts in Latin America, reporting to Chris Ottinger, MGM’s recently appointed President of International Television Distribution and Acquisitions.
Meanwhile, Daniel Tibbets has joined Bunim/Murray Prods., a Banijay Group company, as SVP of Digital Media. He will lead Bunim/Murray’s digital department and focus on increasing the company’s digital productions, reporting to Gil Goldschein, President of Bunim/Murray Prods. Tibbets most recently served as SVP and Studio Chief at GoTV Networks.
