Cable Bits: New Series On Weather, Renewal On TLC, New BH Housewives On Bravo

Alaska continues to be a popular setting for cable reality series. Following TLC’s Sarah Palin’s Alaska and History’s taxidermy-themed Mounted In Alaska comes Coast Guard Alaska, a new Weather Channel reality series produced by Al Roker. It is exactly what the title suggests.

Meanwhile, what Bravo now calls “the critically acclaimed series” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will return for Season 2 on Sept. 5. In addition to the premiere date, the cable network also announced two new cast members — Brandi Glanville and Dana Wilkey — who will join returning stars Taylor Armstrong, Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof, Kim Richards, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump.
