EXCLUSIVE: Jon Ferro, Lionsgate’s EVP Television Distribution and Digital Sales, is leaving the company as part of a restructuring tied to the recent hire of veteran Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer executive Jim Packer to run Lionsgate’s TV distribution and digital operations.
In mid-February, Packer was named to the new position of president of worldwide television distribution and digital, reporting to Lionsgate President Steve Beeks. Ferro, who joined Lionsgate in 2004, had previously overseen those areas, reporting to Beeks. After Packer’s arrival, Ferro had to report to him, raising speculation that his days may be numbered. Also let go today was Nathan Love, Senior Analyst for Sales and Planning, Digital and On Demand. It is part of Lionsgate’s recent moves to streamline international TV sales and transactional digital initiatives under Packer.
