Last night’s premiere of Disney Channel’s Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam drew some 8 million total viewers to rank as the year’s most watched cable movie and TV’s top Friday telecast in nearly 6 months in total viewers. The sequel’s audience was down slightly from the 8.9 million averaged by the first Camp Rock movie. For comparison, Disney Channel’s High School Musical 2 (17.2 million) nearly doubled the audience of the original HSM TV movie (7.7 million).
Over at MTV, Jersey Shore broke series records for a fourth straight week on Thursday, averaging 6.5 million viewers and a 6.5 rating in persons 12-34. This was MTV’s highest rated series telecast in over eight years – since The Osbournes in May 2002.
Also on Thursday, episode 6 of Lifetime’s Project Runway’s eighth season surpassed four million total viewers (4,002,000) and two million Adults 25-54 viewers (2,160,000) to post the reality series’ highest marks since the Season 6 finale last November.
