Fox won a slow Wednesday night that saw overall TV usage down 6% from the same night last week. Fox’s two-hour performance episode of So You Think You Can Dance averaged a 2.6 rating/share among adults 18-49. That was down 13% from last week’s Wednesday segment, which featured the Vegas callbacks.
NBC, which won the night in total viewers, had the highest-rated program of the night with America’s Got Talent (3.0/9), which was flat with the Tuesday telecast. (NBC aired the Stanley Cup final last Wednesday.)
The third original series of the night, that featured a lot of reruns, was ABC’s Happy Town (0.6/2), which continues to test how low a broadcast show can go by slipping another 25% from last week. (It wasn’t helped by its lead-in, a repeat of Cougar Town, which drew a 1.0/3)
CBS, which won the night in total viewers, aired a 90-minute TV’s Greatest Surprises special at 8PM, which drew a 1.4/5 in the demo for third place. And, amidst controversy surrounding the exit of co-star A.J. Cook, a repeat of Criminal Minds at 10PM was CBS’ top program for the night in the 18-49 demo with a 1.6/5.
