USA Network kicked off the summer with a big start for Burn Notice and Royal Pains, both of which had their highest-rated season premieres last night. Burn Notice opened at 9 PM with 6.6 million viewers, 2.6 million of them in the 18-49 demographic. That was up 10% (in viewers) and 2% (in 18-49) over the show’s most recent summer and winter season debuts. Royal Pains followed at 10 PM with 5.8 million viewers, 2.4 million of them in the 18-49 set. That is up 5% and 3%, respectively, from the medical dramedy’s series premiere last summer. The USA shows also tend to grow throughout their run. For instance, the summer finale of Burn Notice last year drew a record 7.6 million viewers/2.8 million in 18-49.
Meanwhile, the summer season premiere of Comedy Central’s Tosh.0 on Wednesday night became the sophomore show’s most-watched episode ever with almost 2 million viewers and also hit series highs in adults 18-49 (1.2 rating) and adults 18-34 (2.4 rating)
