EXCLUSIVE: It’s been a great week for Sean Hayes. He got solid reviews for his hosting duties at the Sunday Tony Awards where he was also nominated for the top-grossing Broadway musical Promises, Promises. Hot in Cleveland, the first scripted series produced by Hazy Mills, his company with Todd Milliner, broke ratings records for TV Land last night with 4.8 million viewers tuning in for the premiere. And now the company has inked a two-year overall deal with NBC Universal to develop network and cable series. Hazy Mills already has a project in development at USA Network with writer Jeff Rake about a performer who enters into the world or organized crime.
This marks Hazy Mills’ return to NBC Uni after a stint at CBS Studios. On the unscripted side, Hayes, who branched out into producing following his Emmy-winning turn on Will & Grace, and Milliner previously executive produced the Bravo series Situation: Comedy. Hazy Mills is repped by WME and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.
