When will it end? I hear that UTA has hired yet another agent — Geoff Morley, who was Scott Rudin’s top development executive in New York for several years and who has spent the last year as a literary manager at Management 360. I’m told he made a very amicable departure from 360 to return to UTA which wanted to bring Morley back to the agency where he used to be a motion picture lit agent. “Geoff’s got great taste in material and he’s a UTA guy at heart,” says a UTA insider who confirmed to me that the agency will continue to make more additions to its talent and literary departments. UTA has now hired 7 mid to senior level agents in the past few months, which is both unusual and encouraging in this climate of downsizing. My only question is which small fry will be let go to pay for these new additions?
