Lynn Shelton has signed with UTA, a team led by partner and indie group head Rich Klubeck plus lit agent David Flynn, and Industry Entertainment’s Rosalie Swedlin. But only after what I’m told was one of the longest post-Sundance pursuits by every major Hollywood agency and management firm including UTA, Endeavor, William Morris and CAA. The chase began immediately after the Sundance Film Festival‘s first weekend screening of her acclaimed film Humpday, a comedy about two college buddies whose heterosexual one-upmanship leads them to dare each other into making a porno with each other for a local amateur porno festival. The film was picked up by Magnolia for distribution later this year. Shelton also won the “Someone to Watch” Award at the Indie Spirit Awards two weeks ago for her previous feature My Effortless Brilliance.
